Plasma is the liquid portion of the blood that carries nutrients, hormones, proteins, and waste products.
It is often transfused to patients with severe burns, liver disease, or clotting disorders such as hemophilia. Plasma contains vital proteins like albumin, immunoglobulins, and clotting factors, which are used in the treatment of shock, immune deficiencies, and blood clotting disorders. Plasma can also be used in Life science and research industry for the development and validation of in vitro diagnostic assays.
Normal plasma
Normal healthy adults, 18 -65 years of age. Normal plasma is collected via plasmapheresis; this is a process in which your red blood cells are given back to you during the donation. Normal plasma is used for the development and validation of in vitro diagnostic assays.
Donors can donate up to 2 times per week.
Specialty plasma
Donors who have various infections and disorders are necessary for the diagnostic and IVD market by providing clinical samples and bulk raw materials required for critical diagnostic tests. If you have an infectious disease or autoimmune disease you are eligible to donate plasma up to 2 times per week in our specialty plasma program.
